He is the oldest son of Erivan Haub the former CEO of Tengelmann Group. From 1978 to 1983, Haub studied economics and social sciences at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. At the same time, he was a trainee at Tengelmann Group. He worked for Nestlé and McKinsey & Company before joining Tengelmann again.
